Cooperation with S.O.R.G.
The Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (S.O.R.G.) is an association of independent surgeons focused on promoting the technical and scientific progress in oral and maxillofacial (OMF) surgery.
Their industrial partner for implementing novel techniques and procedures is the KLS Martin Group. The S.O.R.G. was founded in 1988 and has currently 87 members all over the world. The founders of the group were Professor Maxime Champy (Strasbourg), Professor Klaus-Louis Gerlach (Cologne), Professor Hans-Dieter Pape (Cologne) and Leen M. De Zeeuw (Tuttlingen). Their original objective consisted in introducing the mini-plate osteosynthesis to establish it as the “golden standard”.
As this goal has been reached, the group is now pursuing new tasks:
- Promoting research in the fields of bone healing and osteosynthesis
- Training young surgeons in the use of osteosynthesis techniques in craniofacial surgery
