Electrosurgical Unit ME MB1 with Endo-Mode

To create a special unit for endoscopic applications, KLS Martin has extended the range of functions of its successful classical model, the ME MB1. Needless to say, the ME MB1-Endo’s operating concept is just as unrivaled in its simplicity and its price-performance ratio excellent as well.

The “endo” cutting mode allows a fractionated and therefore controlled cut specially designed for low-resistance applications in endoscopy (e.g. papillotomy or polypectomy). Our tested and proven Patient Control System (PCS) ensures reliable NE application monitoring when working with split neutral electrodes. Whenever the NE makes insufficient contact with the patient’s skin, a visual warning signal is emitted and current output blocked at the same time.

A multitude of different currents is available for use by qualified surgical staff:

• Endo-mode for endoscopic applications
• CUT 1 for a smooth cut
• CUT 2 for a smooth cut with some eschar formation (= blend cut)
• Contact coagulation with depth effect in contact mode (direct contact between electrode and tissue)
• Spray coagulation for surface sealing, particularly suitable for hemostasis in TUR applications
• Bipolar contact coagulation via footswitch activation
• The progressive power adjustment via rotary switch enables exact dosing in both the upper and lower power ranges, thus ensuring the unit’s universal use

The ME MB1-Endo can also be used in conjunction with Martin’s Argon Beamer System (MABS). This gives you all the options and benefits of argon plasma surgery. The very powerful Spray Coag mode enables you to apply the HF current “non-contact” to the tissue by way of ionized argon gas. This means fast and uniform hemostasis with significantly less tissue carbonization, while the patient benefits include improved wound healing and a substantially reduced perforation risk.
