Certainly not over the MicroStop® sterile barrier!
With the new MicroStop® generation, we have optimized the system once again in terms of safety and hygiene. How did we achieve it? First, with a new, closed cover design characterized by two lateral flow paths, and then with the Greencheck® safety system that makes sterility verification (prior to releasing the sterile goods as well as before using them in the OR) absolutely easy. And finally, with a host of other details designed to facilitate the daily routine work substantially once again, in the central sterilization department no less than in the operating room.
A real innovation makes no compromises
The OR is a place where safety, hygiene and sterility have top priority. At the same time, hospitals are under a high pressure to cut costs. With the new MicroStop® generation, KLS Martin satisfies both requirements - because the most innovative Sterile Container System available on the market is safe and cost-effective as well. Our new Sterile Containers are available in two versions: standard and MiniSet.
The new form of safety
During the air exchange that takes place on a purely physical basis outside of the sterilizer, the MicroStop® microbial barrier effects a separation of the microorganisms from the airflow in which they are carried along. In fact, the microorganisms are brought to a standstill, which reliably prevents them from migrating into the container. The effectiveness of the system has been proved impressively by microbiological and scientific tests and examinations: the MicroStop® germ barrier offers a separation efficiency of no less than 99.99997%.
The RED/GREEN tamper evident indicator ensures that any accidental or unauthorized opening of the container after sterilization is recognized at once.
The new form of economic efficiency
In terms of cost-effectiveness, the MicroStop® system is an innovation as well: the KLS Martin Sterile Containers can be resterilized as often as needed and require no consumables at all, thus representing a cost-efficient as well as practical alternative to filters. And because less waste is produced, the environment benefits as well.
Use of innovative materials
New materials provide for important advantages. Permanent deformations – as often caused by heavy metal covers in routine operation – are reliably prevented with our dimensionally stable cover made of heat-resistant and steam-sterilizable high-performance plastic. KLS Martin was the first manufacturer to use this type of plastic for building containers. The lightweight aluminum box offers a high heat storage capacity and good thermal conductivity, thus guaranteeing excellent drying results.
Complete range of products
The MicroStop® container system is available in three sizes and different heights. The containers’ dimensions are perfectly matched to each other, thus enabling optimal space utilization both inside the sterilizer and during storage. And as you would expect from KLS Martin, a comprehensive range of accessories is available as well, from trays to logistics components to container trolleys and tables.
For all those who need their surgical instruments clearly organized in small trays/sets, KLS Martin has developed the MicroStop® MiniSet Sterile Container System – exactly the right solution for outpatient departments and private practices with their specific sterilization facilities. Ideal for space-saving storage. Just perfect for private surgeons and dentists.
Regulations and standards
Needless to say, the MicroStop® container system complies with the requirements of national and international standards and regulations governing sterile barrier systems and packaging systems:
DIN EN ISO 11607 Part 1 and Part 2:2006,
DIN EN 868 Part 8:1999,
DIN 58953-9:2010-05,
EN 285:2008,
DIN EN ISO 17665 Part 1:2006,
CE marking in conformity with EU Directive 93/42/EEC (MDD).
KLS Martin MicroStop® containers are approved for steam sterilization procedures complying with EN 285 and have been validated acc. to DIN EN ISO 17665-1.
