Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The initial impulse for the OMF surgical product group came from Professor Maxime Champy of Strasbourg in the late seventies when he confided his ideas about a mandibular mini-plate osteosynthesis system to KLS Martin’s engineers.

In a joint effort, they proceeded to develop the theoretical system into practical products. Today, the mini-plate osteosynthesis system is considered the worldwide “golden standard”.

KLS Martin collaborates with researchers from all over the world and, in particular, with the S.O.R.G. (Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group). Our joint goal is to promote the development of implants for use in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Today, KLS Martin is an innovation and global market leader in several market segments.
