The name of Rudolf Buck is closely related to the history of the Gebrüder Martin company. In the early 1920s, Buck was managing director of Gebrüder Martin, a small Tuttlingen instrument manufacturer; no easy task in light of the economic depression and galloping inflation of the time. Rudolf Buck realized that hard money could only be earned on foreign markets. As his manufactory was too small for an export-oriented company, he approached competitors with the idea of joining forces. His reasoning: if each partner contributed products to a joint portfolio, the latter would have enough weight for successfully competing on a global scale. The plan worked: Founded in 1923 under the name of Gebrüder Martin, the cooperation proved a great success over many decades until today for all of the partners involved.
As part of this collaboration, Rudolf Buck proceeded to found an own company with a view to rounding off the joint product range with special products. Today, managed by Rudolph Buck's successors, this business is still a success. Since July 2007 the company is located in the new building in Mühlheim. The new structure will create a basis for new concepts and visionary ideas; quite as Rudolf Buck, the firm's founder, would have wished.
