Today we officially opened our KLS Marin WORLD North America training center at our site in Jacksonville, Florida. After a construction period of 14 months, the training center finally joins our North American campus, which previously included our marketing and sales company KLS Martin LP as well as our development and production company KLS Martin Manufacturing LLC.
After only six months of construction, the topping-out ceremony for the extension at Karl Leibinger Medizintechnik (KLM) in Mühlheim an der Donau was celebrated. The shell of all the concrete work has now been completed on schedule. With an expected investment sum of 13 million euros, the new building is the largest single investment in the company's more than 100-year history.
The first ever Level II advanced training has taken place in our KLS Martin WORLD in Tuttlingen. Participants from 11 different nations were following up their basic education from Level I and boosted their knowledge in processing of medical devices.
At the first international congress of hospital architecture (Primer Congreso internacional de arquitectura e ingeneria hospitalaria) in Lima, Peru, Markus Unger, our Head of Product Management for individual OR solutions, spoke to over 200 Architects and Project Managers about the future of modular technology in hospital construction, our individual OR solutions and the challenges in project business.
Thomas Samyn, our Director Product Management Implant Systems, spoke on this topic at an industry forum of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Brisbane, Australia. In addition to him, other speakers from the industry gave insights into their assessment of the future challenges and opportunities for the medical technology industry in Queensland and Europe.
The KLS Martin Group is continuing its commitment to education and the customer experience with the construction of the second KLS Martin WORLD facility.
The construction work is in full swing. The project is fully on track. In our development and production company Karl Leibinger Medizintechnik (KLM) in Mühlheim an der Donau, a further production and construction building with an area of around 5,300 square metres is currently being built on three levels.
Under the motto "Fit and healthy through bits and bytes", the state government organized its fully booked annual digital@bw festival in Tuttlingen on July 19. 500 visitors were able to discover the potential of digital health applications through lectures, discussions and guided tours in various medical technology companies. We also participated in the festival and invited the visitors to experience our digital solutions for the individualization of medical technology live at our visitor center KLS Martin WORLD. Thomas Strobl, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digitization, was also among the visitors.

27th ESTS Congress in DublinAt this year's Congress of the European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery in Dublin, our colleagues from the product management and sales together with our local distributor Lynton from Great Britain presented our product innovations in the fields of electrosurgery, vessel sealing and surgical laser systems.

With its comprehensive know-how in the fields of medical technology, CAD automation and additive and subtractive manufacturing, CADS GmbH can optimally support the KLS Martin Group in the future.
The colleagues from our IPS® planning office in San Sebastián, Spain, took part in the “Carrera de Empresas”, a local company race, for a good cause. On a distance of 8.5 km along the three beaches of the city, they were able to secure the 77th place among 348 company groups.

This month we traveled around the world. From the CMEF in Shanghai over the Hospitalar in São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro to the ICOMS and back to Tuttlingen. At this year's congress of the European Operating Room Nurses Association (EORNA) in The Hague, colleagues from our Dutch sales and marketing company Martin Nederland/Marned B.V , together with our local distributor Heijneman Medical and our Product Managers from Tuttlingen, presented the new products in the areas of operating lights, HF surgery and surgical instruments.
The IPS® family now includes IPS Implants® Preprosthetic. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Hannover Medical School (MHH) has developed a functionally stable framework implant. It is manufactured using a 3D laser melting process. Since 2015, more than 25 patients have already opted for IPS Implants® Preprosthetic and can benefit from the advantages of the new immediate dental rehabilitation. The clinic's cooperation partner is the KLS Martin Group.
KLS Martin Group looks back on strong growth in 2018
At this year's International Sales Conference of the Tuttlingen-based KLS Martin Group, numerous sales managers were selected who have exceeded their annual target.
