From 6th - 13th November 2017 the equivalent of the German FK1-Course (Reprocessing and Sterilization of Surgical Instruments) took place in the Catholic University in Santiago de Chile. The course was organized by MMM and KLS Martin, both suppliers of P & E and Tecnigen, who sponsored the course. The German Society of Sterilization (DGSV) certified it.

Its objective is the training of relevant knowledge of all the processes involved in the reprocessing and sterilization of surgical instruments and thus to improve patient safety on the long run. For all the involved parties the commitment to education is of particular significance: "Education is delivering added value to our products and represents finally an integral solution to our customers.” The course brought together 33 students from various countries in Latin America, mostly professionals who work in hospitals or CSSDs. The participants may not only benefit from the new knowledge and the thereby improving product quality, but also from the network with other CSSD managers which is a result of this course. Also the companies gain from the relationships with each other to improve for example compatibility of products and / or processes.
