Together with Heinrich Binder architects we have been awarded the Hugo Häring Prize for the KLS Martin WORLD visitor center. The prize is awarded by the Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA), Baden-Württemberg branch, to clients and architects for outstanding examples of architecture.

The Hugo Häring Prize 2017 for the district of Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg was awarded on Monday evening September 11th at the Franciscan concert hall in Villingen. The KLS Martin WORLD visitor center in Tuttlingen was among the six projects that received an award.

The BDA Baden-Württemberg awards the prize, named for the architect and theoretician Hugo Häring, every three years to recognize the work of clients and architects in south-western Germany. An award that makes sense, because the cooperation between the two partners is more often marked by tension than productive work. Client Karl Leibinger and architect Heinrich Binder accepted the award. Town planner Achim Ketterer, who was responsible for the design of the surrounding area, and Atelier Brückner, which designed the show room, also contributed to the design of the building.

"We are very pleased to have been awarded this important prize for our visitor center. KLS Martin WORLD is the public face of our group. We in the management group and also our employees are very proud to be able to greet our guests in a prize-winning building. We can scarcely imagine how we used to present ourselves and our products without this building. We had around 500 events with almost 5,500 guests last year. The trend is rising. Our building, popularly named "World", makes a new impression at every visit," said Karl Leibinger.

Architect Heinrich Binder said: "The architecture of the building invites visitors to see, learn and teach, but also to be human. The visitor center makes a self-confident impression in the difficult heterogeneous situation in the surrounding North industrial and business area. We have designed a building with a clear and elegant appearance and one that stands out in its environment."
