L1 Sternal System

The KLS Martin L1 Sternal System is used in stabilizing and fixating chest wall fractures including sternal reconstructive procedures, trauma, or planned osteotomies.

The L1 Sternal System is now enhanced with the introduction of the Sternal Screw Guide. Our Screw Guide was designed with surgeon efficiency in mind to make closures fast and simple.

Accelerating Closures

The L1 Sternal Screw guide allows for up to 20° screw angulation, enhancing the control of screw placement. The sternal plates remain securely retained to the guide, even when contoured. Our guides come in two variations to provide versatility in plate selection while not overcomplicating guide selection. The ladder plate guides are modular in design, allowing for multiple guides to be attached to fit even our longest ladder plate.

Intentionally Designed

Our screws feature ThreadLock TS (Taper Screw) technology which allows for tactile engagement until the final turn.

ThreadLock TS technology allows screw insertion angles up to 20° in any direction. Combined with a tapered anterior surface and countersunk screws, this provides a low implant profile for reduced palpability.

Simplifying Re-entry

In cases of emergent re-entry, rapidly access the chest cavity with intentionally designed cut points on each of our plates.

Comprehensive Portfolio

With over 20 individual plate designs, we provide a comprehensive suite of solutions for midline closures, transverse closures, and mini sternotomies.

We also offer specialty Y-plates for right anterior thoracotomies to ensure coverage for a wide range of procedures.
