After a successful 2023 financial year with an increase in turnover of almost 14% compared to the previous year, the KLS Martin Group continues to grow.

The site in Mühlheim an der Donau, which is home to the development and production of implants, surgical lights, surgical instruments, and container systems, among other things, has already expanded considerably in recent years. At the end of 2023, the municipal council of the town of Mühlheim and Mayor Kaltenbach reached an agreement with Karl Leibinger, Member of the Supervisory Board at KLS Martin: As part of the "Mühlenösch expansion," two plots of land totaling 10,000 m² will be sold to the KLS Martin Group.

The KLS Martin Group is an international medical technology company and generates 90% of its turnover outside Germany. Nevertheless, the core and origins of its success are shaped by its Swabian homeland and the fact that half of the 2,100 employees worldwide work in Germany. The Leibinger family is still deeply rooted in Mühlheim an der Donau today. "Mühlheim is where everything that makes KLS Martin what it is today began. We want to keep all growth opportunities open in the future. It is a conscious commitment to the Mühlheim location and the Tuttlingen region that we want to acquire almost 10,000 m² not far from the existing KLS Martin site," says Karl Leibinger.

There are plans to construct a new building for development and office workplaces on the site. There are also plans to build two apartment buildings for the needs of KLS Martin employees who are temporarily working at the Mühlheim and Tuttlingen sites for extended periods before returning to their original locations.

Christian Leibinger, Managing Director at KLS Martin, explains: "I am optimistic that we will be able to continue our previous success story. Even in these turbulent times of internationalization, we need to strengthen our home base. This includes creating attractive and future-oriented workplaces."

Mayor Kaltenbach expressed his thanks: "We are delighted that KLS Martin has once again made a clear commitment to Mühlheim as a location and is thus allowing the region to participate in its economic growth. Especially in these difficult economic times, we are proud to have an international, growing company in our region that is so close to home."
