KLS Martin Group increases shares in CADS GmbH

The KLS Martin Group has held shares in its strategic partner CADS GmbH since 2019. The Austrian company based in Perg develops visionary software solutions for industry and medical technology. With 45 employees currently, CADS specializes in developing cloud-based solutions, 3D visualization, and artificial intelligence. CADS is ISO 13485 certified for the development and manufacture of medical devices.

In November 2023, KLS Martin's shares in CADS were increased to a majority shareholding of 51%. The cooperation, which has been highly successful for ten years, has continued to intensify and has borne ample fruit. "The jointly acquired know-how must be secured for both sides and is to be further expanded in the future. In addition to the location in Perg, we are planning a new site in Linz from 2024 and to double the number of our employees in the medium term," says Wolfgang Höller, Managing Director of CADS GmbH.

With our expertise in software and AI, we create innovative solutions in medical technology that improve patients' lives worldwide, explains Mario Moser, Managing Director of CADS GmbH. "Our cooperation brings together two visionary companies that are pioneering work in personalized medicine."

When the collaboration with CADS began in 2013, the aim was to create an automated workflow enabling users to plan individual implants essentially. After just one year of development, IPS Gate®, a web-based platform that provides surgeons and users with a completely digital process for the virtual planning of customized splints, guides, models, and implants, as well as the actual surgery, was presented at ICOMS 2015.

"The success story of IPS Gate® can be seen as a symbol of the success of the cooperation between KLS Martin and CADS. To date, around 55,000 cases have been planned worldwide with IPS Gate®, and thus, tens of thousands of patients have been optimally treated with a precisely fitting individual implant solution. This makes us very proud," reports Michael Martin, Managing Director of KLS Martin SE & Co. KG. In the meantime, numerous software solutions for the automation of production, planning, logistics, and visualization processes have been implemented.

The proportion of software solutions for digital services and products has grown steadily in recent years and has developed disproportionately strongly in all product segments, explains Christian Leibinger, Managing Director of KLS Martin SE & Co. KG. "We expect this development to continue and see the strengthening of our cooperation with CADS as an investment in new technologies and a successful future."
